With Sinan dead, Altaïr obtains and hides the treasure he had previously looted from Robert de Sablé: the elusive Piece of Eden capable of altering the world's fate. With this revelation of Sinan's betrayal of the Creed, Altaïr is forced to confront and kill his former master.
With his reputation restored and his missions completed, Altaïr returns to Sinan, only to discover that Sinan is in fact secretly a Templar who had manipulated Altaïr to eliminate Sinan's former allies to consolidate more power for himself. He first kills Sibrand, William de Montferrat, and Garnier de Naplouse in Acre, then strikes Vizier Abull Aswad and Tamir Bin Musa near Masyaf, and finishes with Maj Aldin, Tallal, and Robert de Sablé in Jerusalem. Altaïr is ordered to kill seven high-ranking Templars scattered throughout the three cities of Acre, Masyaf, and Jerusalem. After he failed to assassinate Robert de Sablé and led the Templars back to Masyaf, he was demoted, though Altaïr's master and the Assassins' leader Sinan offered him a task to regain his former reputation. Before the Third Crusade, he is the most skilled Assassin in the entire Order. The larger ones contain up to thirteen missions and also offer horseback sequences, along with graphic depictions of assassinations with comic book-style panels.Altaïr is a member of the Assassin Order, a faction in opposition to the Knights Templar. There are some differences between the versions. There are a number of bosses (targets on his list) that require more advanced tactics. Health can be restored through vials and collecting memory blocks leads to additional health units. While fighting, Altaïr can block, attack or go for a one-hit kill by timing precisely. Some of these need to be recharged or can only be used at specific places. There are four different weapons available during the game: a sword, bombs, a crossbow and a grappling hook.
Although a few stealth sequences are present, where master assassin Altaïr needs to blend in a crowd on a market, the focus is mainly action-oriented, combining platform jumping with fighting sequences.Īltaïr can pull off a fair share of acrobatic moves, including wall running, wall jumps, climbing on ladders and ledges, dashes, moving blocks, sliding and swinging. The mobile version of Assassin's Creed is based on the same storyline, but presents the entire game in 2D platform gameplay.
